Chapter 10
10.1
After you have eaten your fill, give thanks in this way:
10.2
‘We thank you, holy Father, for your holy name, which you have caused to dwell in our hearts, and for the knowledge, faith and immortality that you made known to us through Jesus, your servant. To you be glory for ever.’
10.3
‘You, almighty Sovereign, created all things for the sake of your name. You gave food and drink to people for their enjoyment so that they might give thanks to you; but to us you have graciously given spiritual food and drink and eternal life through your servant.’
10.4
‘Above all, we thank you because you are powerful. To you be glory for ever.’
10.5
‘Remember your church, Lord: deliver it from every evil, bring it to completeness in your love, and gather your sanctified church from the four winds into your kingdom, which you have prepared for it. For yours is the power and the glory for ever.’
10.6
‘May grace come, and may this world pass away. Hosanna to the God of David. Whoever is holy, let them come; whoever is not, let them repent. Maran atha. Amen.’
10.7
Allow the prophets, however, to give thanks as much as they wish.
