Chapter 9

9.1

Concerning thanksgiving, give thanks in this way:

9.2

First, concerning the cup: ‘We thank you, our Father, for the holy vine of David, your servant, which you made known to us through Jesus, your servant. To you be glory for ever.’

9.3

Concerning the broken bread: ‘We thank you, our Father, for the life and knowledge that you made known to us through Jesus, your servant. To you be glory for ever.’

9.4

‘Just as this broken bread was scattered over the mountains and, when gathered, became one, so may your church be gathered from the ends of the earth into your kingdom. For yours is the glory and the power through Jesus Christ for ever.’

9.5

No one is to eat or drink from your thanksgiving meal except those who have been baptised into the name of the Lord; for the Lord has also said concerning this, ‘Do not give what is holy to dogs.’
