Chapter 13

13.1

Every true prophet who wants to settle among you is worthy of food.

13.2

Likewise, a true teacher is worthy of food, just as a worker is.

13.3

Therefore set aside a first portion from all the produce of the winepress and threshing floor, and from cattle and sheep, and give the first portion to the prophets, for they are your high priests.

13.4

If you have no prophet, give to the poor.

13.5

If you prepare food, set aside its first portion and give it according to the commandment.

13.6

Likewise, when you open a jar of wine or oil, set aside the first portion and give it to the prophets.

13.7

From money, clothing and every possession, set aside a first portion, as you see fit, and give it according to the commandment.
